After dominating performances at the Sunset beach pro in early 2017 both the men’s and women’s SUP surfing World Champions have been crowned for the APP World Tour 2017 season.
The APP World Tour 2017 season has officially come to a close and the 2017 World Racing Champions have been crowned.
As has already been said of the 2017 edition of Red Bull Heavy Water, the event lived up to its name this year as the Bay Area delivered a XXL swell to challenge the very best paddlers in the world in a way they have never been challenged before.
The World’s best male stand up paddle boarders all gathered on October 20, 2017 for one of the biggest races of the year: the Red Bull Heavy Water. In it’s second annual event the Red Bull Heavy Water provided paddlers the opportunity to win the biggest payout in the history of SUP: $20,000 to the first place finisher.
As favorable conditions are predicted for Friday October 20th, Red Bull Heavy Water is now in the Green Light phase, meaning that the event is likely to be held that day.
Red Bull Heavy Water, arguably the most intense stand up paddling event in the world, will return as part of the 2017 APP World Tour circuit, with an event window from October 16th - 31st.
Tension is mounting as we are now just over a week away from the 4th stop on the 2017 APP World Tour, the Mercedes-Benz SUP World Cup. The World's best athletes will descend upon the beautiful seaside town of Scharbeutz in Germany to do battle for vital ranking points at what is the critical midway point of the season on the APP World Tour.
Stop #4 of the 2017 APP World Tour is quickly approaching and excitement is building as the action moves on from Japan and over to Europe for the Mercedes-Benz SUP World Cup in the beautiful seaside town of Scharbeutz, Germany.
Enoshima Beach provided the perfect backdrop for world-class racing. With strategy, endurance and ocean knowledge all playing into equation for the Contenders, the World's best stepped up to the challenge.

With a full schedule of entertainment to come this weekend from the Trump Wetsuits Japan Pro-Am presented by Hawaiian Airlines, it all starts on Friday at 4pm Japan time with an Opening Event at Enoshima Beach consisting of a Nation's Parade and Hawaiian style Opening Ceremony.
