BREAKING STORY: Hurricane Irma Wreaks Havoc on Surf Expo in Orlando

With Hurricane Irma growing and Category 5 winds charging towards Florida, the Orlando Surf Expo is experiencing some setbacks. One of the show’s exhibitors, Surftech, recently announced that they are pulling out of the Orlando expo for safety reasons. Surftech CEO John Vance released this statement early Wednesday morning on Facebook.

Boardworks Surf Acquires Global License Agreement to Rogue SUP

Boardworks, a SoCal-based leader in surf and standup paddle (SUP), today announced its global license agreement with Rogue, an authentic core performance SUP and surf brand, founded in 2008. This announcement comes on the heels of the company’s appointment of Rogue founder Rick Karr as Boardworks’ new general manager in January 2017.

Father to Paddle 200 Miles to Raise Awareness for Rare Disease

In July 2016, Rich Wygand’s first child, Luke, was born with a rare genetic disorder causing severe muscle weakness called Nemaline Myopathy (NM). Rich is planning to paddle 200 miles on his stand up paddle (SUP) board from Lake Worth Beach to Key West, Florida in June of 2018 in an effort to raise awareness and funds for the rare disease that affects his son.
