The World's best are heading to the land of the rising sun in two weeks time for the next stop on the 2015 Stand Up World Series.
The 5th Annual Naish Columbia Gorge Paddle Challenge scheduled for this weekend August 22-23, 2015 will feature a weekend of exciting Stand Up Paddle Board Racing. This event will draw recreational and professional competitors from around the world including the continental U.S., Hawaii, Canada, and Australia.
A long-running fundraiser that switched from a golf marathon to stand-up paddle boarding made a successful splash Sunday, August 9th at Rotary Beach in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada.
For the second consecutive year stand up paddle athletes crossed the channel between the islands of Pico and São Jorge. The SãoJorge2Pico race, an oceanic event between islands that integrates adventure, effort, navigation and concentration, was held this past July 11th, 2015.
After the postponement of the Grand Slam event back in March, it was with great disappointment that the Waterman League announced the cancellation of this year’s Stand Up World Series and World Tour stop in Brazil, citing another request for postponement late in the day, leaving them no choice but to cancel for 2015.
The Stand Up Paddle Industry Association (SUPIA) has recently announced the dates and opened registration for their annual 2015 SUPIA SUMMIT. SUPIA is the trade organization that handles all businesses of stand up paddle boarding.

The 2015 Supconnect Awards in partnership with the AWSI and presented by Turtle Bay is extending the voting period for the 2015 Editor's Choice portion of their awards. The 19th edition of the Molokai to Oahu Paddle Board World Championships (M2O) once again provided another exciting year of the legendary Ka'iwi Channel crossing on Sunday July 26, 2015. With surprise drop-outs and intense battles throughout the race, it was none other than Sonni Hoenscheid and Travis Grant who claimed the well-deserved victory in the harsh and challenging conditions.
