Over the weekend the world’s best men and women stand up paddle (SUP) surfers took to the water and showcased their talent at the famous wave of Cloudbreak, a shallow and powerful reef located in the open ocean off the Fijian island of Viti Levu.

The 2016 Fiji ISA World SUP and Paddleboard Championship is set to kick off on Saturday, November 12, in the tropical paradise of Fiji when the Opening Ceremony inaugurates the competition in Port Denarau. All 26 National SUP and Paddleboard Teams featuring 244 athletes have announced their rosters to compete in the SUP Surfing, SUP Racing and Paddleboard Racing disciplines for the week of competition to come.

The 2016 Fiji ISA World SUP and Paddleboard Championship is set to take place from November 12-20 in the pristine waters of Fiji, gathering the best SUP and Paddleboard athletes in the world. Here are the ten things you need to know about upcoming competition:

The International Surfing Association (ISA) and the Local Organizing Committee for the 2016 Fiji ISA World SUP and Paddleboard Championship, Tourism Fiji, have set a new standard in sustainable practices by aiming to make the competition, which will take place from 12-20 November, carbon neutral.
